Pictures of the Forest, near Monument, Colorado - July 2002
Was just wandering in the forest on the last day of my house sitting in Monument.
Nice and peaceful ... it's what I've needed recently.
I know ... it's not the most exciting adventure, but it's not as bad as the tree trunks pictorial. :)
I always notice these old pine trees that have lots of branches slumping down.
Way out somewhere at the base of Mount Herman, looking east.
Blah blah.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn!
Serious question: Does anyone know why a lot of the bark on these trees turn black? They look like they've been charred from a fire, but it's obvious that a fire has not been through the area ... or maybe I'm wrong. Any thoughts?
