Hi folks! Every picture was taken while I was inside the car. Love, Steve :)
Pictures on the way to Great Sand Dunes National Monument - November 2001
That's my map. We drove from the Colorado Springs area (top right), down Interstate 25 to Walsenberg and then drove west across La Veta Pass. The Sand Dunes are designated bythe pink area (bottom left).
That's somewhere on the Interstate, driving south.
The Spanish Peaks are so beautiful. They look so much bigger in person.
That's Silver Mountain to the north of La Veta Pass.
A small mountain, for Colorado standards.
Dave Vetter graciously drove. By the way, he's the guy I had lunch with at Chipotle awhile back.
One of those peaks in Mt. Blanca, another fourteener.

Here are all of my San Luis Valley pictorials:
  • Villa Grove
  • Bike Tour in SLV (2003)
  • Youth Group in Del Norte
  • Prayer Shrine in San Luis
  • Bonanza
  • It was a long 2 1/2 hour drive to the Sand Dunes in the San Luis Valley, but it was so worth it!
