Boki Buys Special Gourmet Drink for Steve and... (BOKI MIGHT RUN FOR HAIR CONSULTANT!)February 4, 2002
Howdy everyone. Early this morning I arrived at
Spice of Life Cafe
in Manitou Springs and ran
into Boki (see picture). He showed me on the menu how his
first name is in one of the gourmet specialties, named the Bokimatti.
Then he bought one for me! What a guy!
Who is Boki, you ask? Boki is a really friendly and generous man who co-owns
the Manitou Springs Center for Photography and has done
a lot of work with black & white prints.
Among many things, his continual encouragement to me to write my own book sticks out the most.
So we sat around and discussed all sorts of things:
from how the heck to make this web site a
serious moneymaker,
to inconsiderate people who toss their cigarette
butts on the ground, to the theory of evolution and the spirituality of humankind,
and how I really need to get another
part-time job. But most excitingly...
Boki is considering running for Hair Consultant! All I will
say right now is he realizes the "window of opportunity" in front of
him and might "throw his hat in the ring." (I love that figure of speech!)
After discussing what last year's election was like, he seemed quite interested.
Expect him to make a decision soon, maybe by next weekend!
Boki, if he won the April 2002 election, would be
the first male ever to serve as Hair Consultant! Also, one's
own hairstyle has NOTHING to do with serving as Hair
Consultant. No, it does not matter that Boki has very little hair! In fact, here are the three main responsibilites of Hair Consultant:
To be an advocate, encourager and champion for me in growing my hair long.
To be available at all times to give me advice on how to manage my hair.
To be a public figure on this web site - one willing to enjoy the praise and criticism that sometimes goes with the job.
There's a nice close-up shot of the Bokimatti Breve drink. He and a guy named Matt
supposedly perfected the drink after numerous experiments.
It is an espresso beverage with half & half cream and a touch of two Torani syrups, hazlenut
and cream de cacao
... mmmmmmmmmmm, it's really good! I was especially struck by the smooth, milky feel of the drink! :)
Back to the Hair Consultant election. If you want
to run for office, you've got until March 1
to talk to me and formally announce your campaign. At the moment, Donna is the only person who is officially running ... I wonder what her thoughts are on Boki. :)
Love, Steve :)
