COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- With a small, intimate gathering of close friends watching, Dawnn DiVito was inaugurated as the seventh hair consultant of Steve "ColoradoGuy" Garufi Sunday afternoon.

Agreeing to the oaths with her hand laid on Steve's naturally curly hair, the awkward four week period of vacancy for the important position came to end.

"This is indeed a very special day for Dawnn and my hair. She's probably the greatest advocate for my hair that I have ever known." said Steve, in a heartfelt manner.

A mood of celebration permeated the day for Dawnn and her friends. Danny DiVito, Dawnn's brother who lives in Chicago, Illinois, flew to Colorado Springs and attended the inauguration.

"Steve, I just feel so honored. This is so cool. I am so happy to be your hair consultant." said Dawnn, who spoke of revitalizing the excitement and enthusiasm that originally sparked Steve to grow his curly hair long 15 months ago.

"Renewal of Steve's Hair"

Dawnn's first act in office was to declare a time of "renewal for Steve's hair." She spoke in general terms about promoting a spirit of optimism and admiration for Steve in his commitment to grow out his long, naturally curly hair.

She called for an end to the bitterness, divisiveness and controversies that have often plagued the terms of past hair consultants, and invited all in Steve's life to rally around Steve's dark, curly locks.

Dawnn did mention one specific proposal: the presentation of Steve's hair as he begins his counseling internship in late May.

"We've gotta do something with your hair when you start your internship. I'll help you tie it up in a pony tail so it looks neat and clean." Dawnn offered.
