3-Year-Old Boy Makes Fun of Long Hair Calls Steve "A GIRL"
October 27, 2001
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - An adorable little boy teased and mocked
Steve's long hair by relentlessly calling him "a girl" this afternoon in Colorado
Springs.
Jack Griffith, the cute 3-year-old son of Loree
Griffith of Horizons 27,
had apparently never seen a man with long hair and spoke his thoughts without hinderance.
"You look like a girl! Why do you have long hair? You look strange." said
Jack, looking up to Steve. His words did not seem to be a compliment.
"No duh! Of course it wasn't a compliment. I guess I felt a
little funny, but that's that. (Jack) is a cute kid." Steve reflected.
The confrontation with the young boy occurred on Sunday in the front
yard of the Griffith residence in Colorado Springs. During the visit, Steve told the
The Story of the Golden Goats Milk to the entire family, but afterwards conversation returned to the
topic of Steve's hair and his masculinity.
Chuck Griffith, the 8-year-old brother of Jack, was not as harsh as his brother, but nonetheless offered a troubling
assessment. "From the back you look like a Spanish girl with dark hair." he said.
His mother completely disagreed. "Steve, you definitely do not look
like a girl. You know I'd be
honest with you." Loree insisted.
According to Steve, the Internet personality has received
a lot of comments about his hair since the summer, most of which have been positive.
With the support of many of his Manitou Springs friends,
Steve has become more aggressive
in attacking the small but vocal
narrow-minded and prejudiced adults who continually
speak against Steve's dream of having long hair.
"Jack was really cute. I have no problems with him ... Simply put, adults who tear other people's dreams are
insecure and have given up their life dreams as well." said Steve.
