Steve Drops Counseling to Become Hairdresser
April 1, 2001
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Claiming there is no future
for him in counseling, Steve declared his plan to immediately
abandon his counseling graduate studies to
begin a career in hairdressing.
According to Garufi,
his budding fascination with his own naturally curly hair, along with his vast experiences with six different hair
consultants, motivated Steve to explore a career in
hair design. He has been a master's level counseling student for the past two years.
"I just realized I don't want to be listening to people telling me all
of their loser stories all day in a counseling
room. There's got to be something better out there." explained Steve.
"Well you realized that a little too late there,
mister." Dawnn DiVito interjected, his current hair consultant,
"That's not very wise. Leave the hair thing to me and
focus on your counseling."
Friends close to Steve say the critical
event that swayed Steve's career shift was DiVito's
bold move in kissing Steve's dark locks last week.
"I just know that my passion for my hair and
other people's hair is going to be used by God
in some manner. I'm real excited." said Garufi.
Garufi has no prior experience in hairdressing, but plans to obtain training this summer.
