Local Woman Makes Rainbow-Colored Jello
June 17, 2001
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- Who said jello doesn't get any respect?
One Colorado Springs woman has found a creative way to capture
the hearts and minds of faithful jello eaters. Tara Shelhamer, a
22-year-old natural redhead who attends Steve's Bible study,
made jello with a rainbow design containing six different flavors:
purple, blue, green yellow, orange and red.
"That was awesome jello," said Tanya Morton, co-host of the
Thursday night group, "(Did I eat) some? Yeah, I think I ate 8 of 'em."
Tara, who brought 24 glass portions for all to enjoy, offered
the jello as a practical lesson of how God always keeps his promises.
In Chapter 9 in Genesis in the Bible, God declares
rainbows will be an everlasting reminder of his promise to never
allow another flood to destroy all life on earth.
"It wasn't the most sophisticated Bible lesson that we've had,
but hey, I liked it." said Steve graciously, "And the jello was real yummy,
especially with the whipped cream!"
"It's especially fun having all the colors on one spoon." said Tara,
as she scooped a spoon full of jello in her mouth after the meeting.
A likely voter in the Steve's Bible Study District
which has 9 electoral votes, Shelhamer
said she is undecided over who she will vote for
in the August hair consultant election.
Among all seven hair consultants, including incumbent Dawnn DiVito,
a redhead has never held office.
