TRINIDAD, CO -- A relentless game of "phone tag" has developed between Steve Garufi and the police chief of Trinidad, Colorado this week. Garufi, who is planning on visiting the small town in southern Colorado, desires to meet the police chief and include him on this web site.

Unfortunately, their "phone tag" has stymied efforts to communicate directly.

The "phone tag" began on Friday morning when Steve called and left a message with the police officer who answered the phone. On Tuesday, Steve called again and this time left a message on the police chief's personal voice mail. On Wednesday, the police chief called back, but Steve's phone line was busy because of his Internet connection.

"That was so frustrating." explained Steve, "I had just called him earlier that morning and decided to go online. Of course with my luck, he called me then."

Steve immediately called back but again received the police chief's voice mail.

Garufi is planning on visiting the historic town located just north of the Colorado/New Mexico border next week and intends to create an "adventure" with his digital camera. Seeing local attractions, photographing Raton Pass and meeting with the police chief are tentative plans on his itinerary.

"I figured the police chief might be freaking out about who I am," explained Steve, "but I made clear that I'm ColoradoGuy.com, and I'm just looking to have fun. Our meeting could be as simple as a one minute meeting of my shaking his hand and getting a picture of us or I'm even willing to buy him lunch."

Steve is rumored to be considering giving the police chief a free t-shirt for his time.

Presently, Steve is awaiting a return call from the police chief. In Steve's latest voice mail, he gave his e-mail address as a potentially better way to communicate.
