Texas Woman Knits Southwestern Quilt And Mails It To Steve!
"Alyson In Texas" Worked On Sewing Project For Over Three Years! (July 15, 2005)
MANITOU SPRINGS, CO -- Steve "ColoradoGuy" Garufi received yet another pleasant surprise in his mailbox today!
Alyson in Texas (left photo), an occasional visitor of the forums since 2002,
began sewing a quilt for Steve three years ago and mailed out this week to the so-called "Internet personality".
"I'm finally sending this quilt!! Are you stunned?" wrote Alyson in a greeting card
(bottom right), "I'm still hoping to make it to Arkansas for the next CG Festival."
The southwest designed
quilt is currently sitting on Steve's large green couch
in the living room of his apartment, the same couch Alyson ironically slept on when she attended the 2003 ColoradoGuy Festival in Manitou Springs.
"I totally forgot that Alyson was working on this project. It's been so long."
replied Steve, who was hoping to receive another
"big ol' care package" in view of the pity he received
after viewers learned he ate corn niblets and canned pears for dinner last month. "Herman isn't too happy, but oh well."
Steve has received many items from web site visitors, including care
packages and homemade "goodies" throughout the years. Steve has also received
license plates, postcards and even an official Super Bowl XXXIX t-shirt from Jacksonville, Florida.
This quilt, however, is the first gift of its kind.
Two more photos of the inside of Alyson's card and a Texas postcard she included ... :)
